How To Make A Traditional Hot Toddy Recipe!

A classic stays a classic for a reason. This traditional recipe is simple and you can feel like a professional bartender by adding your choice of spirits and teas to create your own classic version. This throwback remedy is known to provide relief when cold winter days leave you feeling a bit under the weather. INGREDIENTS:

4-6 CUPS WATER

3-4 CHAMOMILE TEA BAGS OR 2-3 TSP LOOSE

2-4 LEMON SLICES OR WEDGES

1 TSP HONEY PER CUP 

1/4 CUP BRANDY, WHISKEY OR TEQUILA (OPTIONAL) 

CINNAMON & CLOVE SPICE (OPTIONAL) 

 

In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil.

Add the tea and lemon slices. 

Turn the heat down and simmer for about 5-10 minutes covered. 

In a mug, add the alcohol and Honey.

Pour Tea / Lemon mixture over the alcohol and Honey and mix. Filter the loose herb if needed.

Add a pinch of Cinnamon or Clove if desired.

Add more Lemon or Honey as desired as well. 

Sip, soothe and enjoy!
